CURA "Putin's Pursuit of the Global Far-Right and the Marginalization of Russia's Religious Minorities"

with Samantha Miller, Graduate Student, Pardee My paper explores the way the Russian government's support for global far-right movements helps to marginalize religious minorities within Russia. I will explore how the government's projected image of itself as a promotor of traditional Orthodox Christianity is incongruous with both Russia's diverse religious demographics and far-right religious traditions in the countries the government wants to influence.
