- Starts12:00 pm on Friday, May 3, 2019
- Ends1:30 pm on Friday, May 3, 2019
Luther's 1539 Disputation on the Right of Resistance to the Emperor is a recently neglected but historically important source for Luther’s developed theology of the role of religion in society and his legitimation of active (even violent) resistance to a religiously persecuting state. The paper introduces the translation of the text for the American Edition of Luther’s Works.
