From genetic counseling to mining electronic health records,\u00a0the CTSA Program is approaching cancer research from multiple directions, with the goal of getting treatments to patients more quickly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span>Visit our website and click through the map to see the contributions hubs are making to cancer research.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/f1fdf72d4e1c685cf9b9bc731\/images\/9dd968a8-50ad-b913-1ddb-cedb34c4ffd1.png\" alt=\"Tiffany Danielle Chisholm Pineda at the Black Voices in Research storytelling event\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/clic-ctsa.org\/news\/black-voices-research-university-florida-ctsi-provides-platform-underrepresented-voices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Black Voices in Research: the University of Florida CTSI Provides a Platform for Underrepresented Voices<\/a><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Dressed in black, Tiffany Danielle Chisholm Pineda stood on a stage and spoke about her experience as a Black research professional working to eliminate personal biases in scientists.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cMost of the time I\u2019m pointing out what people didn\u2019t have the ability to see because of the perspective of the lens of their culture,\u201d she said. \u201cI am here to share my story so that you can look and see what needs to be done to evolve, to grow, to clean, or even throw away your lenses so that these stories are no longer being told, even in 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span>Pineda is the chair of the University of Florida Clinical and Translational Science Institute\u2019s Diversity and Cultural Competency Council (UF CTSI DC3), which is funded through the NIH\u2019s National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span>She\u00a0is now in the beginning stages of putting together a \u201ccall to action\u201d for other CTSA Program hubs, which would bring hubs together to exchange ideas.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<table style=\"width: 670px; height: 40px; background-color: #006679;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">CLIC Twitter Highlight<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/f1fdf72d4e1c685cf9b9bc731\/images\/c96ff775-978c-6851-4071-bd188b45fe6b.png\" alt=\"Screenshot of a tweet that reads: We had a great Un-Meeting today! The Research Participation team (honest broker) sends the study invitation to potential participants (identified via EHR cohort search) on behalf of the study team.
