Join us for this virtual event to learn about the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, a funder dedicated to supporting undervalued areas in the biomedical sciences. Current research interests of
the Fund are:

- Pregnancy Outcomes
- Pathogenesis of Infectious Disease
- Early-career awards for postdocs and physician-scientists conducting basic, translational, or disease-oriented research
Louis Muglia, MD, PhD, President and CEO of Burroughs Wellcome Fund, will lead the conversation. He has been involved with the Fund for more than 20 years as an award recipient and an active member of its various advisory committees. A pioneering researcher on preterm birth, Dr. Muglia has previously served faculty and leadership positions at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Muglia will discuss the Fund’s mission, funding programs and priorities, grant procedures, and selection criteria. He will also answer questions about the Fund.
