CLIC Education & Career Development Gateway
Are you transitioning your education and trainings into the online space? Need help finding translational science resources or developing your curriculum? The CLIC Education & Career Development Gateway is a collaborative space for the CTSA education and training community. The Gateway includes several distinct sections designed to help you connect with consortium colleagues, share your own resources, and even advance your career!
A centralized source for the CTSA community to find and share a variety of education and translational workforce development resources from across the consortium, searchable by learning domains, tags (keywords), target learners, and more.
Education & Career Development Discussion Forum
A collaborative, inclusive and interactive space for the CTSA education and training community to discuss best practices, learning and training resources, career development opportunities, and potential collaborations with colleagues from around the CTSA Program.
Education & Training Navigator
Request specialized help or guidance from the CLIC Education team to identify education and training resources, develop program activities, or locate potential opportunities for education and training synergies with other CTSA hubs.
Opportunities Board
The go-to resource for members of the translational science community, both within the CTSA Program network and beyond, looking to find (and post!) jobs, training opportunities, internships, and sabbaticals relevant to the world of translational science.
Researchers at the University of California San Francisco CTSI recently launched the COVID-19 Citizen Science Study, an app designed to let anyone with a smartphone contribute to the fight against coronavirus. Participants who download the app are asked to fill out an initial survey on their health and daily habits, with follow-up questions delivered on an ongoing basis afterwards.
The collective participation of committed individuals using the app to partake in the study will help identify behaviors, influences and factors that increase or decrease the risk of infection or that affect outcomes after infection, Gregory Marcus, professor in the Department of Medicine at UCSF and co-leader of the study.
o learn more or sign up for the study, visit https://covid19.eurekaplatform.org/. Participants are encouraged to share the app with as many people as possible, and investigators can contact the study investigators with ideas that might add value or to collaborate.
The SPROUT-CTSA Collaborative Telehealth Research Collaborative at the Medical University of South Carolina recently hosted a nationwide call to discuss how both adult and pediatric telehealth is being leveraged in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic across the United States.
Nine leading healthcare institutions joined the call to present their approaches in using telehealth, followed by discussion of key themes including virtual urgent care for triage, inpatient telehealth to prevent exposures to staff, and the use of telehealth to substitute for previously scheduled in-person visits.
The SPROUT Metrics Topic Working Group developed a COVID-19 Measurement framework to address telehealth’s impact. The framework and a recorded transcript of the call are available at https://services.aap.org/en/community/aap-sections/telehealth-care/sprout/.

News from around the CTSA Program Consortium |
Residential Workshop: Biomedical Data Science Innovation Lab
The University of Virginia this summer is hosting a five-day residential workshop designed to foster the development of early-career neuroscientific quantitative and biomedical researchers. From July 20th to the 24th in Charlottesville, VA, participants will form teams to develop interdisciplinary projects to solve mathematical challenges in the analytics of multimodal neuroscience data. In addition to the opportunity to interact with NIH and NSF program officers to learn about funding, teams will receive support in developing proposals to submit to funding agencies as a cap to conclude the workshop.
All CTSA Directors are asked to nominate two distinct early-career investigators from the biomedical fields specifically including human neuroscience and the quantitative and data science disciplines to apply to attend. Travel and lodging expenses are fully covered for all participants.
All participants must commit to staying for the entire duration of the workshop. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM EST, April 17
