Faculty Writing Group
Finding it difficult to write during the semester? The CTL invites you to join its Faculty Writing Group. Set aside several hours on Friday mornings to write alongside other faculty in a quiet and comfortable space. Past participants report that the sessions enhanced their scholarly productivity by helping them to carve out a weekly block of time for projects that would otherwise have been sidelined by other commitments.

HOW IT WORKS
The Faculty Writing Group meets on select Friday mornings (9:30-12) during the academic year in the CTL Conference Room at 141 Bay State Road. Participants bring their laptop and/or whatever else they need to work. We provide snacks and refreshments but otherwise leave faculty alone to write. Open to all faculty.
TESTIMONIALS
“For years, my designated writing/research days have mostly been a fiction because committee meetings and extra office hours have made them difficult to sustain. The beauty of the Faculty Writing Group is that 9:30am-12pm exists on my calendar as a commitment – a reserved seat in a quiet room with a beautiful view – rather than as a hoped-for block of writing time that I wind up sacrificing.” – COM Professor
“Faculty writing sessions give me a steady, structured time for writing in a collegial, distraction-free (and lovely) space. It has also given me opportunities to meet and interact with CTL staff and learn more about their programming.” – CAS Professor
