Developing a Teaching Statement Workshop Part 2

Hiring committees are increasingly requesting teaching statements as part of the academic job application. This two-part workshop introduces participants to the genre and provides them with an opportunity and tools to create and refine a draft of their statement. In the first session, participants will learn about the different components of effective teaching statements and consider a variety of models. In the second session, participants will learn about teaching portfolios and offer each other suggestions and feedback on working drafts of their statements. Participants should commit to attending both sessions. Lunch will be provided.
