While her career began in the arts, she transitioned to a focus on science because of its broad ability to help others. As an undergraduate, she gained hands-on laboratory skills that initiated\u00a0her career\u00a0in various scientific fields, including animal husbandry, necropsies, and Mohs histology. As a graduate student, her research focused on the impacts of microRNAs\u00a0on Alzheimer&#8217;s disease models.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\" role=\"presentation\">She joined the VA Brain Bank in December of 2025 and currently serves as a Research Assistant and Histotechnician. She thoroughly enjoys both the\u00a0challenging and detail-oriented processes as well as the knowledge that her work contributes to helping families receive valuable\u00a0information about their loved ones.
