Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center<\/strong><\/p>\n

The BU CTE Center is part of the NIH-funded Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center<\/a> which collaborates on research studies to expand upon CTE and AD\/ADRD knowledge and treatment.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Boston University School of Public Health<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Boston University School of Public Health<\/a> works with the BU CTE Center to provide critical data analysis and management to be used in studies advancing CTE research and knowledge.<\/td>\n

Boston Medical Center<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Boston Medical Center<\/a> and the BU CTE Center have partnered to advance clinical research and clinical care in those with suspected CTE through the Memory and Aging Clinic.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

VA Boston Healthcare System<\/strong><\/p>\n

The VA Boston Healthcare System<\/a> and the BU CTE Center have partnered to study the effects of repetitive head impacts and traumatic brain injuries on the veteran community. Several of our CTE Center faculty and staff have dual appointments with VA Boston Healthcare.<\/td>\n

Concussion & CTE Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Concussion & CTE Foundation<\/a>, formerly Concussion Legacy Foundation (CLF), partnered with Dr. Ann McKee, Dr. Robert Cantu, and Dr. Robert Stern of Boston University in 2008 to establish the UNITE Brain Bank. They offer a list of services and resources to brain donor families and those at risk for CTE. Concussion & CTE Foundation oversees the Brain Donation Registry and assists with BU CTE Center study recruitment.<\/td>\n

Mac Parkman Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Mac Parkman Foundation<\/a> has been a great supporter of the BU CTE Center by funding important research, including a recent study to examine white matter changes in young brain donors.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Framingham Heart Study<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Framingham Heart Study<\/a> (FHS) and the BU CTE Center collaborate on numerous studies to advance CTE and brain health research. Several of our CTE Center faculty and staff have dual appointments with FHS.<\/td>\n

National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center<\/strong><\/p>\n

The National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center<\/a> and the BU CTE Center work together on studying and researching CTE and AD and developing effective treatments.<\/td>\n

Mount Sinai Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Mount Sinai Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center<\/a> and the BU CTE Center work together on studying clinical-pathological correlations and mechanisms of CTE.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Brain Injury Research Center of Mount Sinai<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Brain Injury Research Center of Mount Sinai<\/a> and the BU CTE Center collaborate on several projects and grants studying CTE and developing effective treatments.<\/td>\n

UCSF Memory and Aging Center<\/strong><\/p>\n

The UCSF Memory and Aging Center<\/a> and the BU CTE Center have partnered on several clinical studies, including the Head Impact & Trauma Surveillance Study (HITSS), Project S.A.V.E., and FIND-CTE which aim to study the effects of head trauma on contact sport athletes.<\/td>\n

Ohio University Laboratory for Science and Health in Artistic Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n

The BU CTE Center and the Ohio University Laboratory for Science and Health in Artistic Performance<\/a> (SHAPe Lab) have partnered to create the Stunt Performance Research Investigating Neurological Trauma (SPRINT) Study with Dr. Jeff Russell, which aims to understand the prevalence of CTE in the stunt performer community and advocate for stunt performers’ health and well-being.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Boston University Alumni & Friends<\/strong><\/p>\n

Boston University Alumni & Friends<\/a> helps to promote, recruit, and spread the word about clinical studies at the BU CTE Center.<\/td>\n

Notre Dame Football Steering Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/a>Former University of Notre Dame<\/a> football players and their families helped recruit and fund the ground-breaking 2022 study<\/a> published in JAMA Network Open<\/em>. Their efforts helped our research team learn about the long-term neurological and general health consequences associated with playing college football.<\/td>\n

The Brain Health Registry<\/a> at UCSF provides a platform for data collection, management, and collaboration on various clinical studies at the BU CTE Center, including HITSS.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
