Risk of CTE from young age revealed in new study
Neuro Rehab Times | The extent of young athletes involved in contact and collision sports who have Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) has been revealed in a new study. Research has found that, among a sample of 152 young athletes exposed to repetitive head impacts (RHI) who were under age 30 at the time of death, 41.4 per cent (63) had neuropathological evidence of CTE, a degenerative brain disease which evidence shows is caused by RHI.
