{"id":176,"date":"2018-08-06T15:34:57","date_gmt":"2018-08-06T19:34:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csp\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=176"},"modified":"2021-09-20T14:47:06","modified_gmt":"2021-09-20T18:47:06","slug":"marissa-vogt","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csp\/profiles\/marissa-vogt\/","title":{"rendered":"Marissa Vogt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am a Senior Research Scientist in the<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BU Center for Space Physics<\/a>.<span>\u00a0<\/span>I work with data from the Galileo mission to Jupiter (1996-2003) and NASA\u2019s Juno mission, which has been in a polar orbit around Jupiter since 2016, to study Jupiter\u2019s magnetosphere and aurora. I am also a member of the science team for the<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/lasp.colorado.edu\/home\/maven\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MAVEN mission to Mars<\/a>, which has been in orbit around Mars since September 2014.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016 and 2017 I co-led an<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.issibern.ch\/teams\/solarwindinfluence\/\">international team<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>at the International Space Science Institute to study the solar wind influence on the magnetospheres of Jupiter and Saturn. From 2016 to 2018 I was an<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/awardsearch\/showAward?AWD_ID=1524651&amp;HistoricalAwards=false\">NSF postdoctoral fellow<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>at Boston University studying the effects of the solar wind on Jupiter\u2019s magnetosphere and aurora<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Research Interests:\u00a0<\/strong>planetary magnetic fields, ionospheres, and aurora.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":9387,"template":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/176"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/profile"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/9387"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/176\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2545,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/176\/revisions\/2545"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csp\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=176"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
