BUSAT
The Boston University Student-satellite for Applications and Training

The Boston University Student Satellite for Applications and Training is a student-driven grassroots spaceflight hardware development program promoting interdisciplinary research and application based educational opportunities among students of engineering, physics and computer science at Boston University's Charles River Campus. In August of 2012 seven BU students had the opportunity to test their design in a microgravity environment provided by NASA.

The scientific mission of BUSAT2 is to perform measurements of the precipitating energetic electron fluxes from low Earth orbit over the high latitude auroral zones and to simultaneously image the auroral emissions caused by these electrons. The BUSAT project is overseen by Astronomy Department Professor Theodore Fritz.
