Michael Evan Cannella is the Assistant General Counsel at the Massachusetts Health Connector, where he supports the Health Connector\u2019s mission to make affordable health insurance available to more residents of the Commonwealth. Prior to this role, Michael served three years as Legislative Director and Counsel to Massachusetts State Senator James T. Welch. During that time, he reviewed and advised the Senator on healthcare legislation, and on other developments in state and federal healthcare policy.\u00a0 Michael is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts after graduating cum laude from Boston University Law School in 2014. He also received his MPH from Boston University School of Public Health in 2015 after serving as the Health Law and Bioethics Fellow.\u00a0 Upon completion of his MPH Michael was inducted into the Upsilon Phi Delta National Honor Society and was a recipient of the 2015 Allan R. Meyers Memorial Award for Excellence in Health Services.\u00a0 Michael enjoys volunteering his time and skills, including serving as a community member on an Institutional Review Board at Mass General Brigham. He also teaches courses offered by Health Law, Policy, and Management Department at Boston University School of Public Health.<\/p>\n
