As faculty coordinator of information security programs, she developed a proposal for a new joint degree in cybersecurity between MET and College of Arts &amp; Sciences computer science departments, and worked diligently on the coordination of the curriculum and courses. She has been involved in the review of the MET security curriculum, developing courses like\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csmet\/academic-programs\/courses\/cs694\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mobile Forensics and Security (MET CS 694)<\/a><span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csmet\/cs763\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Secure Software Development (MET CS763)<\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>An expert in personal device security, Dr. Zhang established the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/met-mobile.bu.edu\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Mobile Computing and Security Lab (MobCS Lab)<\/a><span>\u00a0to facilitate research and teaching in areas that include mobile platform enhancement, mobile application analysis, and mobile sensing. She led the 2020 effort to redesignate BU as a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsa.gov\/Academics\/Centers-of-Academic-Excellence\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CD)<\/a><span>\u00a0by the program jointly administered by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security; a rigorous, multiphase process which required University-level coordination and collaboration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Dr. Zhang\u2019s research currently focuses on cybersecurity education, mobile security and computing, though her interest spreads to all areas of computer systems, networks and cybersecurity. She has taught a variety of courses, including Mobile Forensics and Security, Secure Software Development, Network Security, Software Engineering, Mobile Application Development, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Analysis of Algorithms and Programming Languages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>MET offers a wealth of graduate programs in information cybersecurity, including the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csmet\/academic-programs\/is\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Graduate Certificate in Information Security<\/a><span>, the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csmet\/academic-programs\/df\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Graduate Certificate in Digital Forensics<\/a><span>, and the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csmet\/academic-programs\/mscs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Master of Science in Computer Science with concentration in Security<span>.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>Congratulations on your promotion, Dr. Zhang, and thank you for your contributions to information security programs at BU MET.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Metropolitan College has appointed Dr.\u00a0Yuting Zhang\u00a0as director of\u00a0Cybersecurity\u00a0programs.
