Hours vary depending on projects but the maximum assignment is 20 hours per week (full-time) for the 14 week semester. Assistantships are applied for on a semester basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is eligible to apply? <\/strong> MET graduate degree candidates who are in good standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and are registered for at least one course. Additionally, online graduate degree candidates may only apply if living in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to research assistants, MET CS is also looking for teaching assistants for certain courses\u00a0to help with various activities such as running study sessions, grading, faculty support, etc. We also have limited grader positions available each semester for students to assist strictly with grading activities in a course. These opportunities are available as needed for students who have received an &#8216;A&#8217; grade in the course and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csmet\/research\/assistantship\/graduate-assistantship-application\/\"> <button class=\"button\">Apply Now<\/button><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadlines<\/strong><br \/>\nFall Semester &#8211; July 15th<br \/>\nSpring Semester &#8211; December 1st<\/p>\n<p><strong>Examples of ongoing research projects:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr.\u00a0Eric Braude<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Using neural nets for post-failover system\u00a0operation<\/li>\n<li>PREXEL: Rapid UML class modeling for agile development<\/li>\n<li>GEOPAR: Automatically creating and proving theorems in 2-dimensional geometry<\/li>\n<li>New methods for large,\u00a0real-world UML class models<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dr. Yuting Zhang<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>iSolationAlert: an Android application developed that attempts to identify the social isolation of the user based on the information collected from the mobile phone, including the application information and the sensor information, as well as provide the valid feedback and intervention.<\/li>\n<li>DR BACA (Dynamic Role Based Access Control): model to enhance Android security, particularly in the corporate environment.<\/li>\n<li>Android Application Security Analysis and Malware Detection<\/li>\n<li>Eclipse Plug-in for Secure Android Application Development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Current students may also view and apply for positions around campus through the Student Employment Office web site: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/seo\/\">http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/seo\/<\/a><\/em>.
