Welcome to MET Computer Science!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"GuanglanOur goal within the Computer Science department at BU\u2019s Metropolitan College is to equip our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in the rapidly evolving fields of information science and technology\u2014and enable them to make a meaningful impact on the world.<\/p>\n

We achieve this goal thanks to an exceptional faculty of experienced educators and renowned scholars, whose research accomplishments and unique industry experience place them among the top in their field. Our instructors are committed to sharing professional insights and practical expertise in the classroom, providing valuable mentorship and connections that help prepare students for success. Degree students can also apply for teaching and research assistantships<\/a> to enrich their learning experience, and have access to comprehensive career counseling services<\/a>.<\/p>\n

BU MET is a regional and national leader in a number of state-of-the-art IT areas, such as information security, software development, computer networks, computer information systems, digital forensics, health informatics, data analytics, and AI. Our Health Informatics degree program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM), while our IT Project Management master\u2019s concentration in is accredited by the Project Management Institute Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC). Additionally, Boston University is a National Security Agency (NSA)-designated Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense and Research for its MS in Computer Information Systems concentration in Security.<\/p>\n

Worth noting also is that U.S. News & World Report<\/em> has ranked our online graduate information technology programs among the top ten in the nation since 2014.<\/p>\n

Our computer science and IT programs are available for full-time and part-time study, on campus and online, with convenient times and locations to meet not only the needs of dedicated professionals who desire a rigorous-but-flexible academic environment but also our growing population of international students interested in continuing their academic development in computer science and information technology.<\/p>\n
