36th Annual Plenary, Working Group Meeting and FHIR Connectathon

The September WGM features a brand new event just for students. All day on Monday, students will be able to participate in a schedule tailored just for their needs. The schedule includes:

  1. Orientation for First Time Attendees (early pre-meeting)
  2. Plenary meeting (Monday AM): A Global Healthcare Ecosystem to Meet the Needs of the Next Pandemic

    2. Keynote 2: Research in Public Health – Christopher Chute, MD, PhD, DrPH, MPH, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Health Informatics, Professor of Medicine and Chief Research Information Officer, Johns Hopkins University
    3. Keynote 3: Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) – Marcelo D’Agostino, Senior Advisor, Information Systems and Digital Health, Department of Evidence and Intelligence for Action in Health, Pan American Health Organization/WHO
    4. Panel: Preparing for the Next Pandemic
    5. HL7 International 3-Year Plan
  1. Introductory tutorial on Monday afternoon, with opportunity to select from:
    1. Introduction to HL7 standards for interoperability (recommended for students)
    2. Introduction to FHIR Shorthand
    3. HAPI FHIR
