First-Year Student Outreach Project (FYSOP)<\/b><\/p>\n
**Information about FYSOP 2026 will be released during spring 2025**<\/b><\/p>\n
Overview: <\/b>FYSOP inspires first-year students to become active, socially responsible community members. Starting with a day of service in August and continuing through the fall semester with a cohort of peers, participants build friendships and engage in service, education, reflection, and fun. The program helps students understand how intersectionality shapes their community, encourages intentional language around service and social justice, and provides mentor support to develop skills for navigating college and creating strong support systems while fostering a deeper connection to Boston and BU.<\/span><\/p>\n How to Register for FYSOP 2025:<\/b> Once you’ve attended an<\/span> Info Session,<\/b> you\u2019ll participate in the FYSOP Day of Service on <\/span>Thursday, August 28:<\/b><\/p>\n If you\u2019re not able to participate in the service day but still <\/span>want to learn more about the Community Service Center,<\/b>you can choose one of the following Making an Impact: Meaningful Volunteer Service in Boston and Beyond sessions on <\/span>Wednesday, August 27:<\/b><\/p>\n Students may only register for one FYSOP Info Session or one Making an Impact session.<\/span><\/p>\n Fall Follow-Up Events:<\/b><\/p>\n Cost:<\/b>
\n<\/b>Students can sign up for FYSOP through their BU Orientation Portal by selecting one of the session options under the \u201cService Track.\u201d<\/span>
\n<\/span>If you want to participate in <\/span>FYSOP\u2019s Day of Service, you must register for one of the required FYSOP Info Sessions on Wednesday, August 27:<\/b><\/p>\n\n
