Our Progress

In 2025, BU joined NASPA’s Culture of Respect Collective. At the heart of the Collective is the CORE Blueprint, which outlines six pillars essential to a comprehensive approach to sexual violence prevention and response:

  1. Survivor Support Services
  2. Clear Policies
  3. Multitiered Education
  4. Public Disclosure
  5. Schoolwide Mobilization
  6. Ongoing Self-Assessment

Each pillar is designed to help institutions evaluate and improve their practices in a holistic and sustainable way.

BU’s Progress

We are pleased to share that BU completed the CORE Evaluation in Spring 2025, which provides a comprehensive understanding of how our current strategies align with best practices and where we can grow.

We are now in the process of developing an Individualized Implementation Plan (IIP) based on the evaluation findings. The IIP is designed to align progress in the sphere of sexual misconduct prevention with broader organizational goals. The IIP will define clear short-term and long-term objectives while tailoring the approach to BU’s unique strengths, challenges, and mission, vision, and values. By outlining specific steps, timelines, resources, and responsibilities, the IIP will promote accountability and measurable progress and foster collaboration among stakeholders, ensuring that implementation is both effective and responsive to individual needs.

What’s Next?

Following the finalization of the Implementation Plan, BU will:

  • Begin implementing the IIP in Winter 2025 through Fall 2026
  • Re-administer the CORE Evaluation in Winter 2026 to measure progress
  • Continue to reassess and refine our efforts beyond the two-year program

Stay Involved

This work is collaborative and ongoing. We invite members of the BU community to stay engaged, informed, and involved as we continue to build a culture of respect, accountability, and care.
