{"id":12880,"date":"2019-08-09T14:41:32","date_gmt":"2019-08-09T18:41:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cs\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=12880"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:01:17","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T18:01:17","slug":"vasiliki-kalavri","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cs\/profiles\/vasiliki-kalavri\/","title":{"rendered":"Vasiliki Kalavri"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vasiliki (Vasia) Kalavri is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Boston University and a co-director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/casp\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Complex Analytics and Scalable Processing (CASP) Systems lab<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Vasia\u2019s research sits at the intersection of distributed systems and data management. Recently, she and her students have been focusing on self-managed systems for data stream processing, scalable ML serving systems, and systems for privacy-preserving collaborative analytics.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining BU, Vasia was a postdoctoral fellow at ETH Zurich, where she was awarded the ETH Zurich Postdoctoral Fellowship. She received her PhD from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden and Universite Catholique de Louvain in Belgium, after completing a joint doctoral program as an EMJD-DC fellow.
