See below for more information on a number of opportunities we offer in the Department of Computer Science as well as details on the application process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please note that all student employees must be on campus in order to be hired as one of the below positions.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Graders<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><em><strong>Grader Description<\/strong><\/em>:<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> Graders are responsible for the timely grading of problem sets, projects, and exams for their assigned class for the duration of the semester. Grading work typically takes place behind the scenes, and specific assignments and deadlines vary between classes and course instructors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong><em>Eligibility Requirements<\/em><\/strong>: <\/span><span class=\"s2\">This position is open to undergraduate majors and minors who previously taken the course and received a grade of B or better.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong><em>Pay Rate<\/em><\/strong>: <\/span><span class=\"s2\">$750\/semester paid over 10 weeks in increments of $75\/week (<em>Please note: although the payments are scheduled over 10 weeks, students are required to work for<\/em> <em>the whole semester.<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong><em>Expected Time Commitment<\/em><\/strong>:<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> 3-4 hours per week for the semester<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><em><strong>Application Deadline for Spring 26<\/strong><\/em>:<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> November 21, 2025<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><em><strong>Application<\/strong><\/em>:<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/JsG5qMwwYZc8xVTu8\"><span class=\"s3\">Apply here<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Course Assistants<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><em><b>Course Assistant Description: <\/b><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Course Assistants (CAs) support students in several of the department\u2019s foundations courses and provide the unique perspective of fellow undergrads who have recently learned the material. CAs are expected to host office hours, grade assignments, and answer inquiries from students via email or through the course\u2019s Piazza website. Additionally, CAs may be expected to assist with one of the lab\/discussion sections for the course they are assigned to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><b>Application: <\/b><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdMvfj-VIaizmcnTmm6K8Yo3Uqvv345f_C1QDiQ-TvtE2pFJw\/viewform?usp=sf_link\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apply here<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em><b>Eligibility:<\/b><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Course Assistantships are open to undergraduate students who have previously taken the course they are interested in assisting with. Additionally, CAs must have completed at least CS 111 and CS 112 (or equivalent coursework). Students who have graduated are not eligible to serve as a CA in the semesters after graduation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><b>Pay Rate:<\/b><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> $1,500 total for the semester. <span class=\"s2\">(<em>Please note: although the payments are scheduled over 10 weeks, students are required to work for<\/em> <em>the whole semester.<\/em>)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><b>Expected Time Commitment:<\/b><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 5-6 hours per week (may vary per course) for the semester.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Teaching Assistants<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><em><b>Teaching Assistant <\/b><b>Description:<\/b><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Teaching Assistants are responsible for leading discussion or lab sections (3-4 sessions maximum per week) for their assigned course. Additionally, TAs typically must host weekly office hours and answer questions from students posted on course websites such as Blackboard or Piazza. TAs may also be given additional responsibilities, such as grading homework assignments, projects, or exams as needed throughout the semester.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><b>Application:<\/b><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Application <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/YCMxcgbss3gTWYHX8\">available here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><em>Eligibility:<\/em> <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Masters, BA\/MS, or Senior Undergraduate students, especially those with previous experience in classroom instruction. Students must be in-person to work as a TA.
