Assistant Professor

Manos Athanassoulis is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Boston University, director of the Data-intensive Systems and Computing (DiSC) lab and part of the MiDAS group @ BU. He conducts research in the area of data systems, focusing on novel cloud data management architectures, complex hybrid transactional/analytical workloads, and new hardware (like non-volatile memories and heterogeneous computation units). 

Before joining BU, Manos was a Research Associate and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harvard University. He has a PhD from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (2014), and he holds a MSc on Computer Systems Technology (2008) and a BSc on Informatics and Telecommunications (2005), both from the University of Athens, Greece.
