As such, the Boston Housing Authority houses approximately 10 percent of the city&#8217;s residents through its programs. In addition to providing conventional public housing, the Boston Housing Authority also provides affordable housing through the administration of several rental assistance programs. The Boston Housing Authority&#8217;s state and federal portfolio and rental assistance programs make it one of the top ten largest housing authorities in the nation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-157\" src=\"\/creedd\/files\/2009\/05\/public-housing-1.png\" alt=\"public-housing-1\" width=\"250\" height=\"168\" \/>The mission of the Boston Housing Authority is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to provide stable, quality affordable housing for low and moderate income persons;<\/li>\n<li>to deliver these services with integrity and mutual accountability;<\/li>\n<li>and to create living environments which serve as catalysts for the transformation from dependency to economic self-sufficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Public housing projects that are administered by the Boston Housing Authority will serve as sites for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/creedd\/projects\/project2\/\" target=\"_self\">Project 2: &#8220;Oral Health Advocates in Public Housing&#8221;<\/a>.
