It is edited by alumna and administrative coordinator Annaka Saari (Poetry, 2021) and publishes exclusively alumni of the Creative Writing Program. <em>236<\/em>\u00a0accepts previously published work (so long as credit can be given to the original publisher) and opens for submissions once or twice a year.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/agnionline.bu.edu\/\">AGNI<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>is a prominent literary magazine, founded by Creative Writing Program alumnus Askold Melnyczuk (MA \u201978), that operates out of Boston University. Every year, Creative Writing students apply for the opportunity to serve as editorial assistants for the magazine. Editorial assistantships give students the opportunity to learn how literary magazines work behind-the-scenes: editorial assistants proofread and edit accepted pieces, complete office tasks, help maintain the magazine\u2019s internet archive, and help out with events. These assistantships are unpaid and the number of available assistantships varies from year to year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/arion\/\"><em>Arion<\/em><\/a> is a journal of classics housed at Boston University. Creative Writing students often serve as interns for the magazine. Internships give students the opportunity to learn about the world of academic publishing at one of the most original humanities journals in the United States: interns read and summarize submissions for editorial review, copyedit accepted pieces in multiple drafts, and proofread the issue-in-progress in the final stages before publication.
