Scott is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and currently serves as Pastor of the multi-ethnic\/racial Centralville Church in Lowell, Mass. Laurel focused her dissertation on the church\u2019s response to the contemporary immigration debate, through its treatment of immigrants, focusing especially on Ghanaian immigrants.
