HTP encourages exploring the many places where homiletics deals theologically with culture, context, tradition, and sermonic language.\u00a0 Because of its unique viewpoint and connection to preaching&#8217;s practice, theories, and contexts, homiletical theology is done at several crucial\u00a0 intersections in the field:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>theologies of preaching<\/li>\n<li>theologies of the gospel<\/li>\n<li>the relation of Word and Sacrament<\/li>\n<li>the use of theology in sermons<\/li>\n<li>preaching <i>as theological method<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/homiletical-theology-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Homiletical Theology Project<\/a>\u00a0encourages published work and scholarly discussions that raise the profile of homiletical theology in its pedagogical, professional, and academic forms.\u00a0 To that end, HTP organizes consultations leading to book projects and webinars open to the wider BUSTH community.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/cpt\/files\/2019\/04\/Homiletical-theology-project-1-e1556662507801.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"621\" height=\"800\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5227 aligncenter\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Homiletical Theology sees its theological task in relation to the practices and theories that serve the preaching of the gospel in contexts, cultures, and situations.\u00a0 It understands homiletics and the practice of preaching not as an application of theology, but as a site for doing theology.
