{"id":22513,"date":"2021-03-19T09:12:47","date_gmt":"2021-03-19T13:12:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cpo\/?p=22513"},"modified":"2023-04-05T14:19:28","modified_gmt":"2023-04-05T18:19:28","slug":"center-for-computing-data-sciences-construction-update-3-19-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cpo\/2021\/03\/19\/center-for-computing-data-sciences-construction-update-3-19-21\/","title":{"rendered":"Center for Computing &#038; Data Sciences \u2013 Construction Update \u2013 3\/19\/21"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>During the weekend of March 20<sup>th<\/sup><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Crews intend to work on site Saturday, to continue advancing on the 10th floor of the tower&#8217;s core and the remaining section of the foundation wall at the tower\/podium transition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Crews will also be removing the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> level of cross bracing from the Support of\u00a0 Excavation (SOE) system in the tower on Saturday and plan to continue this work on Sunday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>During the week of March 22<sup>nd<\/sup><sup><\/sup><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>At the tower\u2019s core, concrete is scheduled to be placed for the 10<sup>th<\/sup> floor early in the week. The remainder of the week will be spent removing the formwork from the 10<sup>th<\/sup> floor and installing formwork and rebar on the 11<sup>th<\/sup> floor. Concrete is scheduled for the end of the week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Crews will complete the installation of rebar and formwork for the remaining section of the tower\u2019s foundation wall at the transition between the tower and the podium; concrete placement is scheduled for the end of the week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The installation of formwork and rebar will continue for the tower\u2019s ground floor slab.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The installation of waterproofing at the tower\u2019s foundation walls will continue and backfilling of these areas will follow as waterproofing is completed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Preparations for the concrete placement of the finished slab in the podium\u2019s basement will be ongoing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Last summer, pipes for the domestic water and fire protection lines were connected to the main located on Granby Street and routed inside of the site&#8217;s property line. This week, crews will begin running the domestic water and fire protection lines into the basement of the tower.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered.
