BU Children’s Center – Construction Update – 5/10/19
During the week of May 13th
- ACM abatement – Additional work on the second and third floor will be complete.
- 1st floor demo in main building will continue.
- Layout for plumbing trenching to begin –plan to start the demo next week.
- Site clearing and erosion control will begin.
- Construction access road will be installed.
- The lead abatement contractor will begin work on the exterior of the building on Monday, May 13th.
- Underpinning to begin this week.
During the week of May 20th
- Demolition detailing work to continue; potential for cutting plumbing trench in basement, work at 1 car garage.
- Underpinning will continue for the next six weeks.
- Depending on status of submittals and crew availability we will begin shoring the 1st floor slab of the three car garage and then start installing the support of excavation for removal of the basement slab and footings.
- Three car garage demolition on upper level to begin.
- Part of alleyway will be shutting down to form a single car garage to Prescott side of the back porch on main building to allow for this work to take place.
- The fire department has been notified.
- We plan on occupying this area starting on 05/20/2019.
- Site land clearing to continue.
- Interior lead abatement to start.
- Exterior lead abatement to continue.
- Window sashes and hardware removal to begin this week contingent on release by BU.
- Lead abatement at windows to begin.
- Temp window protection after sash removal to begin.
