Brian builds and manages strategic long-term relationships with industry partners with a focus on data and computational science, as well as multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Before joining BU, Brian was the innovation manager for the City of Boston’s office of business development, where he managed partnerships between the City and innovative corporations and startups. Brian also founded and launched a boutique consultancy focused on data mining, modeling, and decision support systems for banking and consumer-goods clients.
Prior to working at the City, Brian was a Peace Corps volunteer in Bulgaria, where he worked with the Turkish minority in the region surrounding Gotse Delchev. He has also worked as a research associate with Monitor Group in Cambridge, MA.
Brian received his MBA from Babson College and a B.S. in business from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the latter of which included a year of study at the University of Manchester, England. In addition, Brian has pursued studies at MIT in building innovative organizations, system dynamics, and negotiation.
Brian is married to his best friend and has two beautiful kids. When he is not picking up toys, he enjoys training for and running triathlons and bonsai, and he makes a mean French toast.
Strategic Project Associate
Karen builds strategic, long-term relationships between companies and Boston University through collaborative initiatives such as the BU Greenhouse and the Industry Scholars Lunch & Learn series. These initiatives are designed to connect BU faculty, staff, administration, and students with corporations to increase communications and expand industry—university partnerships.
Previously, Karen worked at a consulting firm where she focused on talent and leadership development training. Prior to that she was a teacher in a Boston area public school. She began her career working in marketing and client services at an advertising agency.
Karen earned a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Kansas and a M.Ed. from Lesley University. She is married, has three children, and enjoys traveling.
Senior Research Analyst
Marjorie manages data related to corporate engagement and investment at BU. She also creates critical operational metrics and specialized reports for management.
Prior to joining BU, Marjorie worked in several roles at the Boston Police Department for over eighteen years. Her last position was the Senior Research Analyst, where she worked under the Commissioner’s Office, conducting statistical analysis and best practices research. She served in various task forces including the MA Department of Public Health National Violent Death Project and the Boston Public Health Commission Bicycle/Pedestrian Injury.
Marjorie is graduate of Bentley University where she received a Master in Business Administration, with a concentration in Strategic Management. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Social Anthropology from Northeastern University. She is a Board Certified Researcher on Human Subjects and Massachusetts Certified Public Notary. She has received several Boston Police Department Commissioner’ Special Citations including Distinguished Service, Public Safety Survey 1999 and Leadership and Continued Excellent Service 2011.
Marjorie resides in Roslindale with her husband and three children. Enhancing the lives of children through education is her passion.
