Hafsa Arain is a PhD candidate in anthropology at Boston University. Their dissertation research focuses on queer and nonbinary community organizing in Karachi, Pakistan, where they were born. They come to Boston University after receiving a bachelor\u2019s degree in English literature, religious studies, and screenwriting from DePaul University, as well as a master\u2019s in theological studies from Claremont School of Theology, where she focused on feminist interpretations of the Qur\u2019an.<\/p>\n
