Shelby and Truvy McKelvey-Petro (left and right in the photo shown here) love city life, seeing and being seen. They’re whippets, which means when they are not sprinting at breakneck speeds, they are curled by their dads‘ sides to take naps. Shelby loves running on sandy beaches and hanging out on the Chelsea piers, which she discovered during a summer in NYC. Truvy prefers running after balls, being oddly loud for a whippet, and playing with literally anything that squeaks. They are named after characters from Steel Magnolias, a movie that all Core students should be required to watch.
