Our College provides specialized in-house IT/AV support because the experience of COM students is unique. Traditional lecture classes frequently screen media and incorporate practicum sessions with video, audio and photo equipment. Our technical operations department is available in house from 8 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday during the semester.
During Summer and when classes are not in session, our staff is available from 9 am to 5 pm.
There is no tech support on weekends. If a technical problem is encountered, please email comhelp@bu.edu and a staff member will look into the issue on the following business day.

Sound Effects
Please remember that the sound effects and music provided through these pathways is only for use in course-related, non-commercial work. For any other uses, you will need to secure your own licenses.
Music Library
The prominent commercial music library VideoHelper is owned by COM alum Stew Winter. Winter has very generously offered to let students use music from his library in their class projects. You can search the extensive VideoHelper library online, but you cannot download music directly from the site.
To access a music file, you should click the link to the left. Browse the library and find a track you want to download. Make note of the track’s identifying information (e.g. VH091 Track 14).
Send your request for a music track download to comhelp@bu.edu.
The COM tech staff will then download the track and share it with you. Please allow one business day for a response.
