General Equipment Reservation Guidelines:
- Equipment is only to complete work assigned by a COM professor in a COM class. For all other uses, including non-COM classes, internships, clubs, and personal projects, see the Non-Class Usage policy.
- Equipment Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance of pickup time.
- Checkouts are generally on Tuesday - Friday, 9am-3pm. There is a limited number of pickup slots per day.
- Maximum checkout length is 8 days for most items.
- Return items on or before the return date. Late Fines apply to all checkouts returned after the return date. Fines are calculated at a rate of $10 per day per item. Example: Two items due back on Thursday but retuned on Monday result in a $80 fine. Fines are used for equipment purchases and repairs. Seriously, please return checkouts on time.
- Equipment borrowers are personally responsible for the safe and timely return of equipment. Damaged or lost equipment will be billed for the replacement or repair cost. Equipment may not be taken more than 150 miles from Boston without advanced approval.
- Email comhelp@bu.edu for all questions related to FPS and equipment policies.
