The <strong>Compliance Accountability Matrix<\/strong>\u00a0lists the federal and state compliance obligations applicable to institutions of higher education and\u00a0identifies the senior leaders (<strong>Compliance Area Owner<\/strong>) and departments and individuals (<strong>Operational Owners<\/strong>) with primary responsibility for the University&#8217;s most significant areas of compliance obligations.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Operational\u00a0Owners<\/strong>\u00a0 and members of their team are typically responsible for:\n<ul>\n<li>developing\u00a0and implementing policies and procedures to enable compliance with the regulations;<\/li>\n<li>implement corrective actions when necessary;<\/li>\n<li>communication and training on compliance issues;<\/li>\n<li>maintaining required documentation (e.g., of training completed) to demonstrate compliance;<\/li>\n<li>using feedback (audits, findings from enforcement\u00a0agencies) to make improvements and take corrective action as appropriate; and<\/li>\n<li>providing updates to the relevant <strong>Compliance Area Owner<\/strong> or respective vice president\/associate provost about compliance issues requiring attention.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Compliance Area Owners<\/strong> are responsible for oversight of the regulations and compliance activities they oversee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To search the table below:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sort by Area, Owner, or Source of Obligation by clicking the\u00a0column header to sort by that field.
