Early learning is absolutely critical. That\u2019s why our undergrads and educators work extensively with the city\u2019s youngest minds, from pre-K to high school. We\u2019re equally enthusiastic to help adult learners pursue their interests and passions. It\u2019s what we stand for. It\u2019s the central strand of our DNA.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our commitment to higher education in the neighborhood through the Menino Scholars Program and the Community Service Awards has given over $186 million in <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/admissions\/apply\/costs-aid-scholarships\/scholarships\/merit\/\">scholarships<\/a><\/strong> to promising Boston high school graduates since 1973.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>BU&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/citylab\/\">CityLab<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>provides middle and high school students access to BU\u2019s state-of-the-art biotech labs. <span class=\"phone-number\">617-638-5620<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sph\/admissions\/financing-your-education\/community-scholars-program\/\"><strong>Community Scholars Program<\/strong><\/a> helps\u00a0health professionals pursue a part-time master in public health with tuition assistance while keeping a\u00a0full-time regular job schedule. <a href=\"mailto:scholars@bu.edu\" class=\"emailinfo\">scholars@bu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/biosci\/\"><strong>BioScience Academy<\/strong><\/a> is a one-year program in applied biotechnology for unemployed residents with a science, technology, engineering, or\u00a0mathematics (STEM) background, helping them gain jobs in related fields. <a href=\"mailto:biosci@bu.edu\" class=\"emailinfo\">biosci@bu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The School of Education\u2019s long-standing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/today\/2014\/bu-trotter-partnership-shines-in-dorchester\/\"><strong>partnership with the Trotter Elementary School<\/strong><\/a> has contributed to a remarkable turnaround.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Obviously, we recognize the value of a quality education, and not just at the university level.
