Boston University is committed to the health and safety of the BU community and our guests during Commencement weekend. Announcements of any updated protocols or alerts will be posted here as they are known.
Emergency Services
On Nickerson Field
During the All-University Commencement Exercises on Nickerson Field, Boston University Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) will be available between noon and 4 pm for first aid and other medical emergencies that may arise. They are positioned throughout the stadium and easily identified by their yellow shirts. The First Aid Station is located behind the stage on Nickerson Field.
In addition to Nickerson Field, EMTs will be present at events and convocations scheduled at the following: Agganis Arena, Track & Tennis Center, Walter Brown Arena/Case Center, Fitness & Recreation Center, College of General Studies Auditorium, George Sherman Union Metcalf Hall, Marsh Chapel, and Tsai Performance Center.
Should medical treatment require ambulance transport and/or referral to an emergency room, the patient will be responsible for those charges.
Student Health Services
Student Health Services will provide urgent medical care and referrals to all students (including part-time students) and guests attending Commencement Weekend activities. Student Health Services is located at 881 Commonwealth Avenue (West). Open hours will be listed here prior to Commencement weekend.
There is always a doctor on-call after hours, available by calling 617-353-3575 for medical consultations or 617-353-3569 for behavioral medicine. All guests who are cared for at Student Health Services will be asked to give the name of the degree candidate or faculty/staff member who has invited them to attend Commencement Weekend events.
