Celebratory Events & Activities
Each year, BU plays host to a number of events for graduates and families during Commencement Weekend.
- Schools & colleges will share their own events directly with their graduates (contact the coordinator for more information) so those events will not appear here.
- Registration/ticket sales for these celebratory events & activities open on February 1, 2023 at 12 noon ET. (NOTE: Tickets are not required for All-University Commencement, Baccalaureate, or school/college convocations.)
Riverboat Cruises on the Charles

Relax with family and friends as you cruise down the Charles River. See the sun playfully reflect off the State House Dome and marvel at the beauty of Boston’s skyline during this 30-minute narrated tour. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase on-board, including cash bar. Cruises are covered, and will be held rain or shine. Boats depart from the Deerfield Dock, with access across the footbridge on Silber Way.
Departures begin at 11 am. Last cruise will depart at 3:55 pm.

Ticket sales open on February 1, 2023. Tickets are $10 per person and must be purchased in advance. Boats do sell out.

Tickets for BU Night at the Pops
Ticket sales open on February 1, 2023. Individual ticket prices are $50 for table seats on the floor or $30 for balcony seating. Please note that each floor table has 5 seats as set by Symphony Hall, but you are not required to complete tables.
Ticketing is handled by the BSO Box Office. To make any changes to your order, you must contact them directly. Please refer to your email ticket confirmation from BSO for more information.
