She then moved on to Boston University to become the Lead Designer at COM, which meant she managed the COM Design Center, a team of four designers, and designed internal and external communications for the College. During her time as the Lead Designer at COM, Miracco was asked to pick up a class because a full-time faculty member moved on and she’s been teaching at BU ever since. After seven years managing the Design Center at COM, Miracco moved on to pursue graphic design in other fields. She was a Senior Designer at Public Consulting Group where she designed collateral and proposals. Then a Senior Designer and Art Lead at Pearson North America for the high school math department, overseeing three art directors. After designing for an ad agency, academia, government contracts, and text book publishing, Miracco moved to designing for the sports and wellness industry. She was brought in as the Brand and Creative Manager for NormaTec to re-brand the company as a whole and launch their brand new, high-tech dynamic recovery system the NormaTec PULSE. She grew the creative department from just her to a team of five, while the company grew from 25 employees to over 60—at which time NormaTec was acquired by Hyperice. She now sits over a team of designers, who design print and digital pieces for a product portfolio of six distinct wellness product lines.

Day to day, I take projects from client meeting to concepting to execution to vendor payment in both an office setting and on my own as a freelancer. I work on projects ranging from designing, writing copy for and producing an invitation and all the collateral for events for 250+ people to overseeing the re-design of websites; and everything big and small in between both in print and online. Art-directing illustrators and creative directing designers fills the space in between designing. Spin class, traveling, and watching Bravo fills the rest of my time.

While the classes I teach aren’t necessarily meant to create designers, I teach them in a way students will be able to “speak” designer, know what goes into creating advertising pieces, and have the skills to navigate the Adobe Creative Cloud programs. And I enjoy sharing my passion for design with students.
