COM Mentors: Alumni-Student Mentor Program<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

COM Mentors is a virtual mentoring program for alumni and students to connect. The program is led by COM Career Services. Students and alumni are matched and participate in the program for one semester. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOTE: the 2026 – 2027 program will have 60 mentor\/mentee pairs and this application will close after it receives 60 applications.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goals of the program:<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Foster Meaningful Connections
    <\/strong>Build supportive alumni-student reciprocal relationships that encourage reflection, professional growth, and long-term career confidence.<\/li>
  2. Explore Career Pathways<\/strong>
    Provide insight into careers through personal storytelling, real-world experiences, and practical tools.<\/li>
  3. Strengthen Professional Skills<\/strong>
    Support mentees in developing the skills and mindset needed to navigate internships, job searches, and early career challenges, including interpersonal communication, responsibility, self-motivation and leadership.<\/li>
  4. Navigating Workplace Culture<\/strong>
    Encourage open dialogue about how to build collaborative relationships with colleagues with different backgrounds and perspectives while still honoring personal integrity.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Details:
    <\/strong>\u2013 Eligibility:<\/strong> Sophomore, Junior, Senior and Graduate COM majors
    \u2013 Commitment: <\/strong>Four meetings with your mentor\/mentee; FOR STUDENTS: attend 2 COM Career Services workshops and have one meeting with a COM Career Counselor
    \u2013 Duration:<\/strong> November 1, 2026 – March 5, 2027.
    \u2013 Support:<\/strong> Resources and guides provided for both mentors and mentee<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Important Dates:<\/strong>

    September 24 – October 12<\/strong> – Application opens for students and alumni who attended a virtual networking event
    October 13 – October 27, 2026 <\/strong>Application opens for students and alumni who did not attend a networking event if space is available
    October 1 – 30, 2026<\/strong> Matches sent to Mentors and Mentees
    March 5, 2027 <\/strong>Program Ends<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To participate as an ALUMNI mentor in the program:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    1. Sign up for one or more of the virtual student alumni networking (nights)\u00a0events as an opportunity for students to request mentor matches<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
