{"id":814,"date":"2012-04-13T15:07:10","date_gmt":"2012-04-13T20:07:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/?p=814"},"modified":"2015-02-24T15:07:42","modified_gmt":"2015-02-24T20:07:42","slug":"ap-honors-wtbu-student-reporters","status":"publish","type":"bu-article","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/articles\/ap-honors-wtbu-student-reporters\/","title":{"rendered":"AP honors WTBU student reporters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wtburadio.org\/\">WBTU<\/a>, BU\u2019s student-run radio station, won two college radio awards from the Associated Press of New England, the news organization announced today.<\/p>\n<p>Both stories were produced for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/about-com\/faculty-directory\/anne-donohue\/\">Prof. Anne Donohue&#8217;s<\/a><\/strong> radio class.<\/p>\n<div class=\"multimedia\">[audioplayer file=&#8221;\/com\/files\/2012\/04\/DonohueLadyfest.mp3&#8243; image=&#8221;\/com\/files\/2012\/04\/wtbu_ladyfest.jpg&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Ali Donohue (\u201912)<\/strong> won best feature reporting for \u201cLadyfest Easthampton,\u201d which takes a glimpse at the performers and activists behind Smith College\u2019s feminist rock festival.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"multimedia\">[audioplayer file=&#8221;\/com\/files\/2012\/04\/lifewithoutparole.mp3&#8243; image=&#8221;\/com\/files\/2012\/04\/wtbu_life_wo_parole.jpg&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Reporters <strong>Erin Kelly (\u201910)<\/strong>, <strong>Danit Kaya (SPH \u201911)<\/strong>, <strong>Anna Branwen Knapp (SPH \u201907)<\/strong> and <strong>Shweta Krishnan (\u201911)<\/strong> won best documentary for \u201cLife Without Parole: Juvenile Justice?\u201d The program probes a difficult subject: whether it\u2019s fair to sentence juvenile homicide convicts to a life sentence.
