{"id":808,"date":"2012-04-27T15:02:20","date_gmt":"2012-04-27T20:02:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/?p=808"},"modified":"2015-02-24T15:03:49","modified_gmt":"2015-02-24T20:03:49","slug":"nbcs-andrea-kremer-teaches-olympic-lessons","status":"publish","type":"bu-article","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/articles\/nbcs-andrea-kremer-teaches-olympic-lessons\/","title":{"rendered":"NBC&#8217;s Andrea Kremer teaches Olympic lessons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;You do not LOSE gold, you WIN silver&#8221; may seem like a minor distinction to a layperson, but Olympics correspondent <strong>Andrea Kremer<\/strong> reminded Boston University students that no detail is too small in good sports reporting.<\/p>\n<p>Other points Kremer stressed during her April 25 visit to the College of Communication:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ask the hard-working question.<\/li>\n<li>Every interview must have a goal.<\/li>\n<li>You cannot do enough preparation.<\/li>\n<li>Do not speculate on injuries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The veteran network reporter also showed students what it&#8217;s like to interview athletes live, post-game and post-race, and how to never forget the &#8220;storytelling of the moment.&#8221; She showed several clips of her work, including interviews with swimmer Michael Phelps winning gold during relay and individual events at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.<\/p>\n<p>Kremer is a reporter with NBC Sports and HBO&#8217;s &#8220;Real Sports.&#8221; She will be reporting again on swimmers at the 2012 Summer Olympics Games in London.
