To study TV\u00a0viewers\u2019 engagement with shows and stories featuring “anti-hero”\u00a0characters, professor and co-director of the Communication Research Center Mina Tsay-Vogel<\/a> is looking beyond the past research that suggests viewers enjoy\u00a0watching “good” characters win and “bad” characters lose.<\/p>\n

In a 2013 study published in\u00a0<\/span>Mass Communication and Society<\/a><\/em>, Tsay-Vogel and a\u00a0professor at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, studied\u00a0character motivation and how a story\u2019s outcome influences\u00a0viewers’ opinion on a character.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
