for CensHERship and The Case For Her. The project envisions bars of soap etched with women\u2019s health terms that Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, deems explicit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe packaging exposes real facts and data showing how that term has been flagged and censored on social platforms,\u201d they wrote in their submission. \u201cEach bar is available for a $5 donation, with proceeds funding the purchase of Meta shares. This allows CensHERship to represent and bring real women\u2019s stories and experiences with censorship directly to Meta\u2019s leadership at annual shareholder meetings, giving us all a seat at the table.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio is-style-background-full-width\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"><div class=\"responsive-video responsive-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"vimeo-player\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/1168582836?h=a7edab201d\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\"   allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>After the award, they described the most challenging part of the project: how to bring attention to women\u2019s health censorship without burning bridges with the platforms responsible for the censorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCensHERship wanted a campaign that would expose the issue but simultaneously could open the door for collaboration and ultimately earn a seat at the table with these platforms so meaningful changes could actually happen,\u201d they explained. \u201cThat\u2019s what led us to the piece of the campaign where every soap purchase contributed to CensHERship buying Meta shares, giving them the opportunity to engage with the company directly as shareholders and advocate for change from within at shareholder meetings.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their work was done as part of COM\u2019s Portfolio II class, led by Professor of the Practice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/profile\/doug-gould\/\">Doug Gould<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m very excited for both Kira and Nan\u00e9, as the project was clearly elite in thinking and execution,\u201d Gould said. \u201cI must also add that many BU student teams also created stellar work that came up just short. They must be celebrated as well.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, Chick is a junior copywriter for <a href=\"https:\/\/dng.com\/\">David &amp; Goliath<\/a>, a national advertising agency.
