{"id":36295,"date":"2023-05-22T16:53:40","date_gmt":"2023-05-22T20:53:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/?post_type=bu-article&#038;p=36295"},"modified":"2023-05-22T16:53:41","modified_gmt":"2023-05-22T20:53:41","slug":"com-video-team-wins-at-student-production-awards","status":"publish","type":"bu-article","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/articles\/com-video-team-wins-at-student-production-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"COM video team wins at Student Production Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A series of video vignettes created by COM\u2019s Hothouse (now <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/real-world-productions\/\">Real World<\/a>) Productions won the top award in the commercial category at the annual Student Production Awards sponsored by the Boston\/New England chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buadlab.com\/students\">The video collection<\/a> was created in 2022 for COM\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buadlab.com\/\">AdLab<\/a>, the student-run advertising agency, to explain and help recruit for staff roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team members behind the videos, now COM graduates, include: Ryan Gregory, videographer; Rohan Gupta, creative director and editor; Shanna Martinez, associate producer and writer; Ryan O&#8217;Connor, producer; and Cristina Thorson, producer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe videos hinge on the personalities of the AdLab team, so we were fortunate that we were filming such interesting, unique voices for the campaign,\u201d Gupta says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/profile\/sheila-sitomer\/\">Sheila Sitomer<\/a>, professor of the practice in film and television and faculty adviser for the project, adds: &#8220;This was a highly collaborative effort by the entire student team to create a visually engaging, cohesive and informative series of vignettes.
