It was reported by Jesse Remedios (COM&#8217;21) and co-hosted by Remedios and Valerie Wencis (COM&#8217;22).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another episode in the series, \u201c(Dis)Integration: Rachel Twymon,&#8221; won second place in the Best Interview category. It was reported by Wencis and co-hosted by Wencis and Remedios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe student work in the (Dis)Integration podcast was amazing,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/profile\/anne-donohue\/\">Anne Donohue<\/a>, associate professor of journalism at COM and faculty adviser for WTBU. \u201cStudents tracked down all the major figures from the busing era that are still alive as well as profiling the unsung heroes who are no longer with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" src=\"\/com\/files\/2022\/07\/valerie-wencis-pmja-award.jpg\" alt=\"Valerie Wencis smiling portrait.\" class=\"wp-image-33849\"\/><figcaption>Valerie Wencis.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn addition, they advanced the story to today&#8217;s Boston and examined what the city still needs to do to bring racial justice and equality to its schools and other institutions,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remedios returned from Seattle with another award, this one for second place in the Series, Division AA, professional category for \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbur.org\/news\/tag\/boston-under-water\">Boston Under Water<\/a>,\u201d his report for WBUR about climate change and its impact on Boston\u2019s Seaport district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The awards were among 221 awards presented to 101 organizations for \u201cthe best work in public media journalism from across the country,\u201d according to PMJA.
