{"id":29162,"date":"2021-03-29T12:29:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-29T16:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/?post_type=bu-article&#038;p=29162"},"modified":"2021-05-03T09:26:58","modified_gmt":"2021-05-03T13:26:58","slug":"pandemic-safety-campaign-takes-second-among-industry-titans","status":"publish","type":"bu-article","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/articles\/pandemic-safety-campaign-takes-second-among-industry-titans\/","title":{"rendered":"Pandemic safety campaign takes second among industry titans"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fckitwontcutit.com\/\">F*ck It Won\u2019t Cut It<\/a>, the COVID-19 safety campaign created by COM students, received second place in the community relations category at the prestigious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prweek.com\/article\/1709560\/prweek-us-awards-2021-winners\">PRWeek Awards<\/a> &#8212; the only winner created by students among 135 nominations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F*ck It Won\u2019t Cut It was one of five finalists for Best in Community Relations, alongside Finn Partners (nominated twice), Walgreens and GCI Health, and a partnership between Sedano\u2019s supermarkets and La Carreta restaurants. One PRWeek judge called the COM project a \u201ccreative use of design to help change behaviors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A PRWeek Award is among the industry\u2019s highest accolades, celebrating the best work, people, and agencies in public relations for more than two decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are honored that our campaign received this honorable mention alongside so many amazing projects and industry leaders,\u201d said Gwyneth Burns (\u201822), public relations manager for the campaign. \u201cWe are so grateful to PRWeek for including us and celebrating our work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a fully student-run campaign designed for students, Burns added, the campaign intentionally embraced the language, ideas, and concerns experienced daily by the Boston University community. Students deployed infographics, out-of-home ads, and \u201cmyth-busting B.S. meters\u201d to deliver its message to students, she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its launch in August 2020, the F*ck It Won\u2019t Cut It campaign reached more than 3.7 million accounts, generated 47,000 engagements, and gained 6,800 followers across its social media channels.
