Beginning today, the College of Communication will offer a free series of live and recorded lectures, conversations and gatherings — all online.<\/p>\n

This unprecedented time is challenging organizations and their crisis communication plans. Some are rising to the challenge, and others are succumbing. PR professors Amy Shanler and Justin Joseph will review brand responses and teach us how organizations, especially during times of crisis, can strengthen stakeholder relationships and manage reputations for the future. Frazier Professor of Public Relations; Jane Carpenter (COM\u201997), Head of Global Communications, Wayfair; and Mariana Agathoklis (COM\u201903), Vice President of Corporate Communications for Verizon and Head of Communications for Verizon Business. Based on a series of surveys (conducted with Dr. James Katz), she draws on multiple models and theories\u00ad\u2014uncanny valley, media equation, apparatgeist, social distance, and social identity\u2014to develop a framework for exploring the social implications of these technologies.
