{"id":138,"date":"2013-05-03T14:05:36","date_gmt":"2013-05-03T19:05:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/?p=138"},"modified":"2015-02-20T14:09:20","modified_gmt":"2015-02-20T19:09:20","slug":"butv10-wins-three-associated-press-student-awards","status":"publish","type":"bu-article","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/articles\/butv10-wins-three-associated-press-student-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"BUTV10 wins three Associated Press student awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The College of Communication&#8217;s own student-produced and managed television station, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.butv10.com\/\">BUTV10<\/a>, is the recipient of three New England Associated Press Student Awards, presented May 2.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Best Election Coverage: \u201cDecision 2012\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Best Public Affairs Coverage: Inside Boston, &#8220;Death With Dignity &amp; Medical Marijuana&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Best News Hard Feature: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=xHNhQJIqNLs&amp;feature=youtu.be\">Aftermath of Superstorm Sandy<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cAccepting these AP awards is an incredible honor, but it only further recognizes that BUTV10 is an amazing outlet for students to create professional level programming,\u201d said Sandy Hooper, a December 2012 graduate of the College of Communication. Sandy was a producer for \u201cDecision 2012\u201d and one of three executive producers for \u201cInside Boston\u201d and is currently an editor and producer in the video department at USA Today Sports.com. \u201cThe students involved in \u2018Decision 2012\u2019 and \u2018Inside Boston\u2019 dedicated long hours on top of rigorous class schedules to produce an evening of election programming that, I believe, went unmatched by other colleges and universities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone is proud to be recognized for this achievement,&#8221; said Assistant Professor Christophor Cavalieri, BUTV10\u2019s faculty advisor. \u201cThese awards reflect the foundation of a large multi-platform collaboration at the College. It was a first-of-its-kind initiative and the effort certainly has resonated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>BUTV10 was established in 2005 as a university-wide resource that presents the work of students, faculty and alumni via campus channel 10, live streaming video and on-demand web content. BUTV10 features 12 programs and boasts over two hundred members.
