Spelling recalled the career of her late husband and the meaning behind his collection in the exhibit. She became emotional when she announced the Spelling Scholarship Fund, a $1 million gift that will provide annual scholarship awards to deserving students studying film, television, or new media.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarship will be given to one or more eligible College of Communication undergraduates who demonstrate &#8220;exceptional talent and potential for success.&#8221; Preference for the scholarship will be given to those students planning to pursue writing and producing careers, like Spelling. \u201cIn honor of Aaron, may his legacy live on to provide the opportunity for students to learn, grow, and continue to revolutionize entertainment,\u201d Spelling said. \u201cI look forward to seeing your names in the credits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAaron Spelling\u2019s shows shaped the popular culture of our country and our world,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/about-com\/faculty-directory\/thomas-fiedler\/\"><strong>Thomas Fiedler<\/strong><\/a> (COM\u201971), dean of COM. \u201cA lot of this was pushing the envelope.
