About Rosalynn Vasquez

Rosalynn Vasquez is an assistant professor of public relations in the College of Communication at Boston University. She has more than 15 years of public relations industry experience in corporate, agency, and nonprofit leadership roles. She served as vice president of marketing & communications for EarthX. Prior to that, she worked as the PR lead for JCPenney, Public Strategies, EDS, Catholic Charities of Dallas, The Power Group, and National Society of Hispanic MBAs.

As a researcher, educator, and former practitioner, her scholarly interests primarily focus on public interest communication issues in public relations, corporate social advocacy, and gender & diversity. She was selected as a 2019 climate change communications scholar from the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies and is a 2020 recipient of the Page/Johnson Legacy Grant to study organizational listening and corporate climate advocacy. Most recently, she is part of a new study examining the state of diversity & inclusion in public relations, particularly among CCOs.

A native of Lima, Peru and proud Texan, she is bilingual/bicultural and enjoys mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, especially women and underrepresented groups, to discover their potential and career paths.
